Bret Michaels: ‘I Always Want to Top Myself’
Rocker Bret Michaels was only six-years-old when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Now, at 48, he’s become a veteran of the rock and roll scene while managing his diabetes (not to mention surviving an emergency appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage, and successful heart surgery in the span of one year).
On Diabetes Alert Day, Michaels talked to Parade.com about how he’s risen to the top of his game while living — and thriving — with diabetes.
Bret’s message on Diabetes Alert Day:
“What I really want people to know about diabetes is that it is a manageable disease, and that if you take the appropriate steps to handle it, it will never limit you in your life. Is it a Read more…
Chris Brown apologizes for startling ‘GMA’ staffers with shirtless meltdown, but also says show exploited him
Chris Brown has apologized for his meltdown after Tuesday’s tense “Good Morning America” interview in which the singer was asked about his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
After the Robin Roberts interview, he reportedly trashed his dressing room, smashed a chair against a window, shattering the glass, and stormed out of the building shirtless. “First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed at my actions,” Brown tells the BET video show “106 and Park.” “Because I’m disappointed in the way I acted.”
But he doesn’t let “GMA” off the hook. While Roberts says Brown

Billy Ray Cyrus tells the ladies of “The View” that he’s called off his divorce from wife Tish, and while he’s in retraction mode, he says he doesn’t really feel that “Hannah Montana,” the Disney vehicle that kick-started daughter Miley’s career, destroyed his family. (That’s what he had told GQ in an uncharacteristically blunt interview.)
“I don’t think Hannah Montana ruined my family . . . ,” he says in the “View” interview, which aired today. “Now fame, fame is a different animal. You’ve got to be careful with that

Since the advent of the tabloid era, there have been many celebrity meltdowns, but none have had quite the imagination or flair of Charlie Sheen’s ongoing multimedia campaign. But then again, few celebrities have the tiger blood and Adonis DNA of America’s top warlock.
We’ve tallyed the overdoses, arrests, tantrums, ill-advised interviews and clinical whackadoodleness to compile this list of the most noted celebrity misadventures, rating them on a scale of one to five warlock heads. (Shee

Charlie Sheen‘s longtime publicist Stan Rosenfield has “respectfully” resigned, saying he can no longer do his job effectively, TMZ.com reports. Clearly, if his job is getting publicity for the “Two and a Half Men” actor, Sheen is doing a dandy job on his own. If his job is making the world perceive Sheen as rational human being, then yes, it’s probably best that he quit and find more stable celebrities to service. Mel Gibson, perhaps.
The last straw for Rosenfield (whose high-profile clientele has included Will Smith, George Clooney and Robert DeNiro) came when Sheen insinuated to TMZ.com in an interview today that Rosenfield lied that Sheen’s recent hospitalization after trashing a hotel room and reportedly locking a hooker in the closet was due to an allergic reaction.
