Lindsay Lohan pleads poverty? Lawyer tells judge she can’t afford to continue psychological treatment
Lindsay Lohan, who reportedly spends $7,100 a month on her luxury Venice townhouse, shops (if doesn’t technically buy) at high-end boutiques and retains a lawyer to the stars (well, the stars who are prone to DUI, anyway), doesn’t have enough money to continue to pay for court-ordered psychological treatment at UCLA, her well-heeled attorney told a judge yesterday, People.com reports.
In court for a progress hearing that otherwise went well, Shawn Chapman Holley told Judge Stephanie Sautner that Lohan had “financial issues.” Lohan can’t attend group therapy sessions, which are cheaper, because of the attention her celebrity status would attract.
But the judge ordered Lohan to show proof she’s undergoing treatment within 21 days. “If she doesn’t have the means, she’s got to find someone to help her out,” the judge said.
Lohan must also fulfill her community service requirement — 360 hours total at a women’s homeless shelter in dowtown Los Angeles, plus 120 hours of janitorial work at the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner’s facility, by the end of the year, the judge also told her.
