The Paranoid Guide to Better Living: Rutgers (and Snooki) Further the Dumbing Down of America

And now your host, Paranoia:

This past Thursday, reality TV star Snooki (I’ve always wondered if she was named after a sea lion) spoke at Rutgers University before about 1,000 undergraduates. She talked about hair styling, gave out some lessons for life and generally was just who she is on television. Proof that American civilization is in a steep decline. Not only that, but she was paid $32,000 for the speech. Say what now?

Needless to say, some parents and students are rightfully pissed off. What could that over tanned little troll have to offer the next generation of slackers, workers and leaders?

Miley Cyrus sniffs at Rebecca Black: ‘It should be harder to be an artist’

Miley Cyrus weighed in on Rebecca Black, the cheesy, massively Auto-Tune’d YouTube sensation on an Australian talk show Wednesday: “It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn’t just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour.”

Really, Miley? You want to go there? You think you would have landed the role on “Hannah Montana” had your father not been Billy Ray Cyrus? Americans Think Bieber Will Be in Rehab by 30

NEW YORK — About 30 percent of Americans believe Justin Bieber will be in celebrity rehab when he reaches 30, according to a new poll released on Monday.

A 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair survey showed that only 20 percent thought the 17-year-old idol would still be playing packed arenas in 2024, while 18 percent said he’d be married and living quietly somewhere.

Equally famed for his soulful voice and the casual flick of his lustrous head of hair, the 17-year-old Canadian singer was the fourth best-selling albums artist in the United States last year, mobbed everywhere by screaming young girls.

But the squeaky-clean pop star, the latest in a long line of teen sensations, reportedly studies the case histories of similar icons so that he can avoid their career hiccups.

The telephone survey involved nearly 11,000 people.

Bret Michaels: ‘I Always Want to Top Myself’

Rocker Bret Michaels was only six-years-old when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Now, at 48, he’s become a veteran of the rock and roll scene while managing his diabetes (not to mention surviving an emergency appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage, and successful heart surgery in the span of one year).

On Diabetes Alert Day, Michaels talked to Parade.com about how he’s risen to the top of his game while living — and thriving — with diabetes.

Bret’s message on Diabetes Alert Day:
“What I really want people to know about diabetes is that it is a manageable disease, and that if you take the appropriate steps to handle it, it will never limit you in your life. Is it a Read more…
